Our group chose to use Weebly and Jing to deliver our tutorial because it allowed us to collaborate effectively and reach our target audience. Our group decided to create tutorials for fellow teachers to show them how to set up a website, use the features, and maintain their site. We felt this was the easiest way for us to share our information with each other and with other teachers was to use a Weebly website to display the information we each contributed. We were able to create a site and make all of the members of our group editors.
Through this development process we learned how to use Google Hangout to video conference. Not only were we able to interact with each other, but we were also able to all view and contribute to the same Google Document during our chat so we had a common space to delegate responsibilities and share ideas for how to shape our finished product. I also learned about many of the features Weebly has to offer. Going through the process of writing a script to communicate my ideas to others has helped me gain a better understanding of this versatile technology tool.
Doing this group project again I would love to use Google Hangout again as a collaboration tool. I feel very comfortable now using Jing to create screencasts, so for a future project I would like to explore another type of recording program to create tutorials. This project our target audience is fellow teachers, but there are no shortage of cool programs for students as well, so next time the target audience may be students themselves.
